*whisper* “Here we are at the north end of Wrightsville Beach tracking the elusive Royal Tern during it’s unusual mating ritual”
“Please be very quiet…here the Royal male displays his wares to the Royal female…Oh my!”
*whisper* “As is often the case, the first advance is not well received and the Royal male decides a dip in the water to freshen up is in order…wise choice indeed”
“AND HE’S UP!…and look at his plummage, his hair is standing straight up!”
“Oh my Lord, we have another suitor trying to attract the female’s attention with a fresh fish…very cunning! But the original Royal will have nothing of it…this could be a fight to the death…while mounted for God’s sake!”
“My God, he’s approaching from above…ingenious!”
“AND WE HAVE A DOUBLE MOUNT…INCREDIBLE…NEVER SEEN BEFORE!!!”
“Oh my word…a very awkward dismount…unsophisticated to say the least.”
“Right when I thought we had seen it all, a commoner is attempting a liaison with a Royal…this could turn ugly.”
*whisper* “Let’s close with the Royal Tern in his finest…what a show!”
*whisper* “And please tune in tomorrow where we will see the frantic mating of the Snowy Egret…quite a display…some might say raunchy!”
